hmmm thinking of putting in a bid i cant seem to locate a price for them on google - you reckon the bit where he says 'the bottom bushes are abit worn and there is abit of surface rust on the coilovers.' is worrying??

Surface rust is nothing to worry about as long as that all it is! but just bear in mind people usually sell coilovers for a reason.

They dont produce these anymore? (i think im right in sayin that) so therefore they will be quite old ish?

Hmmmm see i cant find just rear coilovers anywhere --- would want a pair of teins on the back to match the front. I think your right though, i cant find starlet ones anywhere..

tbh not worth a penny unless you are matching the spring rates to your fronts. Otherwise your handleing will suck. I would imagine they are much harder than tein ha's

You dont match spring rates front and back as long as its stiffer on the front :)

So you're saying if you have 15k on the front and 5k on the back it won't cause any handleing problems??

I'll answer for you.... You will increase understeer signifaicantly.

Anyway in this case the jic's are very stiff and tein ha's are on the softer side of coilovers, so over steer will be problem.

yeah prety much but usualy you wont have such a gap between front and back id say if you want it that stiff go for 14k front and 11 back the big cars in japan like the cruise glanza ran that and the HRF v300

JIC magics are a fail! and as timmy said, get a set all matching, it nmot worth mixing and matching coilovers as your handling will be pony..

tune your car properly, not on the cheap :)

But the differance between them is that big, ha's are like 6k maybe 8k at most. Jics are deff very hard.

i dont know what my hr's are, the spring rate would have been custom chosen by the first owner in japland, but there are crazy hard, you cant drive down b roads without being thrown into bushes and other roadside ornaments lol

They are normaly all sold with the same spring rate, tho you can special order with different rates but majority will have been off the shelf rates i believe.
6k to 8k is pretty hard for such a light vehicle 12k+ is basicaly no suspension at all for a ep.
