Where Did You Get Your Starlet Mapped?

I am willing to travel, but as close to the N/W as possible would be nice!

Forged engine has to go in sooner than I thought and I'm looking for somewhere to get my Apexi Power FC mapped.

Now I hear good AND bad stories about every tuner out there! So your input here is appreciated very much.

Looking for a tuner with good experience with the Apexi Power FC and near the N/W is a bonus.

I don't mean people running an uprated pump and RRFPR either, I mean a full map from start.

Thanks.

Don't want to be going back every 2 minutes due to knock issues thou.

Guess If I am VERY detailed in what I want they should be able to perform?

For example, I want boost as early as possible, comes on late at the moment. I dont want to see ANY knock above 45 maybe, has to below 50.

Was just thinking of trying someone else. Hmmm..not sure yet.

surely they must know wot they are doing, why do you think your knock is to much?

you stress that your car is an everyday daily drive i dont think Racing line mapped it aggresively.

just a lil confused as i thought you was happy with racing line. We havent been back for any knock issue's since last time which was only due to fact needed fine tuning on the road after rollers.

I know someone down here in the South who is good with powerfc's, might be abit to far to travel for you though.

Hmm, I just want it right first time :)

Guess I might go back. Whats mapping agressively got to do with getting knock and early spool thou!

What I was saying is....if it was not mapped agressively as it is a daily drive, then he would not of done what you are saying ;)

Anyway, when the time comes, I'll pop over and see them again and let them know my thoughts and concerns.

Almost everything I have heard about TRL is good. Matt is a very good mapper and I am sure he wouldnt have mapped it to knock. There are loads of different reasons you could have got your knock, temperature is very important and so is fuel. You could even have had a bad batch of fuel which caused the knock but we will never know.

I dont know a great deal about mapping but the reason why the mappers put some timing advance in at the spooling point of the turbo in your case 4000ish rpm, they begin to add advance at say around 3500rpm which will quicken the engine speed of creating exhaust gas slightly and help the turbo to spool because of the increased exhaust gasses to turn the exhaust wheel and to drive the compressor wheel.

It is very hard to get the timing advance right at these lower rpm's ie 4000rpm because there is already a lot of low end torque being created and too much stress cannot be put on the engine.
