Whats the difference between these and lets say ngk ones? When I was getting my car serviced the last time one of the mechs seggested I go for better plugs like hks or blitz or whatever.

blitz are made by ngk, same as apexi plugs

there is only about 3 companies in the world that make spark plugs so hks has to b either bosch, ngk, or champion ;)

Plugs

Exactly so as with most so called BIG brands your paying for the name.Personally if I get a car in and it's running HKS I bin them and fit NGK.I've had loads of trouble with cars running poorly on HKS plugs.Change the plugs and they run grand.

make that 4 company's cos denso make there own plugs to :)

EDIT: also the HKS, APEXI, BLITZ plugs are actually ngk racing plugs or denso racing plugs, and if you were to buy the equivalent plugs in denso or ngk they cost about £100, so in effect there not to bad.

We use HKS plugs all the time. Never had a single issue. Suppose everyone has different experiences though.

It's probably down to the cars I get in from Japan have been sitting around for a long time and the plugs havn't been changed in years.

Now im confused...lol! So im better off just getting the dirt cheap ngk ones??? Several people have said to me now since I started asking that the hks ones are better even though they are made by the same company, as in your not just paying for the brand. In what way are they better?

hks plugs are no better than say the splitfire triple platinums and ngk racing plugs....

i personally cant justify spending that silly amount of money on plugs when i change my plugs every 2nd oil change (5000kms)

NGK plugs are the best full stop.

Denso make hks plugs and that is all i'm saying.

No, they are made by NGK to HKS Specification. All the new ones (m-prefix eg m45i) ar made by NGk. The older ones (s-prefix eg. s45i) were made by Denso.

the HKS are racing plugs, ngk Iridium are not. i have HKS plugs in mine at the moment, NGK are fine to use anyway

yes and its worth pointing out that there is a price difference from the ngk plugs that we all use and the ngk/splitfire racing plugs(that are equivilent to the hks ones.)
