means and ways of getting traction...

look at goldens car(dan) up santa pod on road tires... it flew up the stip in 1st and 2nd gear......

TD-04 certainly aint gona waste your 3rd gear, no chance... especially on the GT's stock gearing..... its long enough....

in the wet it spins in third for me, but dry its generally ok.

havent had a go on a real hot day yet tho :( bring on the summer!

tbh mine usually boots in at 4k i think it gets 1 bar by 4500? but im not totally sure to be honest its hard to watch the boost guage and not crash lol.

but either way its not really laggy at all? i think its the perfect mix of lag and power.

any more and yeah it could be annoying but it certainly isnt unbairable?

yeah i see what your saying wayne, but a spin in 3rd isnt a gear wasted.. god my car breaks traction in 4th gear in the dry at like 90MPH sometimes but dam, am i still propelling through the wind.......

You learn to adapt to it and use it wisely.... acceleration control etc.....

My delivery is very gradual though not a sudden serge of just turbo power... its a strong gradual pull through the rev range until 5KRPM then spins like mad but propels while spinning.. still maintaining really good speed on the spin.....

I dont believe in wasted gears as long as you have a sense of touch... i even make my 1st gear useful however hard that is to believe.... lol

Never lost traction in 1st and only then in the other gears when I really floor it. Can 't comment on other turbo's but would highly reccomend the thrill of a TD04 on full boost. :)

I was under the impression it was near 4k for full boost but you are speaking from experience as I am running a Hybrid and not a TD04, Adam, do you struggle with traction? Does it feel laggy?

I have been realy thinking about getting a TD04 kit but whereas I know I would have more BHP at the top I think I would struggle with traction too much in 1st and 2nd and I dont know whether the TD04 conversion would make my car "faster" from point to point because I can come on boost so quickly and I am holding 1.4 bar to the limiter and it does feel awfully fast.

Decisions decisions!!

Yeah I remember that thread now, also looking at Gee's new AFR vs Boost graph he has 1 bar at 3700rpm and 1.5 bar at 4200rpm.

yeah..so i cant really understand al this talk about 'laggy' tdo4s.....u would really have to have a pretty inadeqaute set up to achieve that
