Whistling noise?

okay 2 quick questions. would a blowing manifold cause a high pitched noise like a whine of a turbo? would a leaking turbo-intercooler cause this high pitched leaking type noise. it also does the noise at idle but only at bout 3k rpm upwards.

Are you sure the car boosting ok?

Do you have a boost gauge?

If it was a boost leak you would notice it.

It is boosting less than usual and taking longer to reach full boost. its now boosting 0.9ish instead of usually a max of 1.1. is this more likely the turbo-intercooler pipe of manifold?

Could be does it have a gasket?

Are all the bolts done up tight?

Do you have a manual boost controller or an electric?

No gasket but has only started this since i changed the mani yesterday. i tried some silicone gasket but was still doing it. im gonna let the car cool right down and then move my hand around and see where the air is blowing from. if i cant feel any around the mani then ill have to presume its the intercooler-turbo when under boost as it seems fine when off boost.
