Who is sick of the honda versus toyota threads

Or talk about any other variable valve lift/duration systems which are infinatly more advanced than the stone age style v-tec
Its good, but there is nothing special about it, its just another cam for god sake.You can fit cams to any car, you will just loose a bit of low down grunt...and it sounds to me like v-tecs dont have that anyway :haha:
I would love to have one though...

as far as I recall the mods cleaned up your thread which you had closed. They then sent you PM's of encouragement and urged you to put pics up once you had collected the car and re-opened your thread with nice comments... not really sure what else could be done.
This thread was opened as a bit of a laugh... yet honda lovers still seem to be taking it all very seriously, get a sense of humour guys.

there are definitly alot of honda vs starlet threads about but its all just fun, i think usually a honda fan comes in after a bit of banter/slagging and really starts taking it to heart and gets all defensive of them.
i think the problem is :
being defensive makes others look offensive,
if someones laughing at hondas is it really worth arguing about on tgtt.com? cause thats what it'll turn into an arguement. i really dont HATE hondas, but me and my friends all take the piss outa them, its whats done, lol im sorry about that but i can honestly say its all meant in the funniest possible way.

I dont take offense to neggative comments towards hondas, its just my character as a person... If you knew me personally you'd know i can get funny and really strong opinionated about many subjects...
I can have a laugh and i really dont mind a few piss takes, but when im in a serious mood and someone is asking for advise on a subject, some comments get on my tits... Not just about hondas but about any subjects...
But seriously, i really havent taken offense, some comments i can really laugh at, some by dylan have made me in stitches! But others are seriously negative in a non joking way, then i think, shut up mate, what do you even know?

really not trying to offend you, but tbh you dont just think "shut up mate, what do you even know" you say that stuff, that annoys people who genuinely think that they are entitled to their opinion of hondas, and you dont have to drive a honda for donkeys to know whether you like it or not, the power delivery and noise is either what you want or what you laugh about, even after a few thrashes or a million passengers rides people have collected an opinion.
if you were discussing the finer details of a vtec engine, and someone chav comes in YOYO'n about vtec then i can understand your frustration, but alot of the time its a genuine lack of interest in type r vs the world thread that gets folk bored and pissed off.
i on the other hand find it funny that every vtec thread crashes and burn on tgtt.com its only natural! if there was a mivec thread everyday to, it wouldnt take long to be boo'd off stage aswell just hope that timmy dont get upset by it all lol

I can see how its taken that way, i can be a bit harsh at times. But its only aimed at certain people.. Ive never once had a problem with you phil, me and dylan just have a lovers tiff!
No but seriously, i only get offended when people make certain comments, not the ones that are constructive... The comments like vtec is shit, my mates one gets blown by a stock starlet... Starlets are much better cars etc etc etc...
Because there is an opinion and then there is just plain stupid! To the certain people, just be a bit more open minded, to give tooo much of an opinion when youve had very very little experience...
When i dont have much expereince in a subject i will say, for instance, i went in a car once and to me felt very bland and not very quick... That all i could say not give huge opinions on it with that one little go around the block...
My best mate hated vtecs as he used to come out in my mates old EP3 civic type R, a good few times... Thought it was slow... My mate wasnt the best of drivers so really didnt show the car what it had....
Since ive had my EK9 he loves the cars! In fact he would actually buy one. He owns a 323GTR a the moment running about 230-240BHP and it neck in neck with my EK9, i think that finalized his opinion... Like anyone else i take out they really really rate the car! Surley it cant be just the poeple i know that love it when they come out in it? And everyone from here doesnt? Not saying everyone has to like it, but i just say, i would love to take certain people out in mine with me behind the wheel and see if their opinions change.... Im very confidant in that.

yes and i was grateful for that and you were very supportive of that which i thank you but what I am saying is that alot of threads these days seem to be aiming at the vtec and as you are aware there are a few honda owners on here and things should be kept at friendly banter which we can all take. My beef is that its going to far and that mods should step in and say enough is enough.
Yes I will say it again this is a Toyota forum and not a Honda forum which I understand but people use this even if they dont have a GT to get advice from people who may have owned or owned a non GT and these people should not have to feel like they are getting slammed down for not owing a GT!
When I joined last October this club was awesome when I had my GT and there was non of this my car better than your car thing but recently its all changed (I dont know if this is just me thinking that everyone against me as I no longer have a GT).
I take into account what people are saying though. Unfortunatly I have decided that my time here on TGTT has come to an end because i cannot see me winning this argument or the mods saying yes enough is enough becuase lets face it there are more GT owners than there are Honda drivers on here which is understandable. And i wont be part of a club that i feel I am not welcome at.

I am on the Honda forums and i have not yet seen any thread slating the GT's actually I see foorums praising the GT's for there power in a small car.
