Why wont my external wastegate open!

just to confirm dave, there was absolutly no moving the wastegate at all. i tried full effort to shift it and it would not budge which i thought was strange.

really sucks that it didnt get mapped mate after all the work we put in on sat! most gay

Mike you should have rung me mate, there should be 2 washers per banjo bolt and you should be able to push the valve up by hand. Sounds like it may be faulty mate. Do you want me to send another out, have one here, just tested it and it works fine. let me know or ring me tomorrow

Hi Dave - I know mate thanks but we were out trying to map it till gone 7.30 and I thought it would be too late to get hold of you! As Keirz said the wastegate didnt move so its either faulty or the lack of washers has meant the spouts are blocked. It would be great if you could send me the EWG you have there and have tested and with the banjo washers required. Once fitted I will return the unit I have to you for your inspection. If you could send it to Scoobyworld special delivery tomorrow mate I can get it on Friday and fit it on Saturday. If thats ok could you let me know either on this thread or PM.

Keirz - i know mate Im a bit gutted. Ive been looking forward to sorting it for ages now and we did so well with the kit and modding my air filter and FMIC to fit the kit!! Sorry all your efforts were in vain for now but hopefully this new wastegate Dave is sending will sort the problem. Although not ideal the mapper says if I can set the turbo at about a bar it will run safely but wont be dialled in so will be down on power. This is my aim, then a proper remap in two weeks. Bummer.

Sounds like you've got the boost control solenoid the wrong way around.

First thing to do is just plumb the bottom directly to the turbo. This should give you 1 bar.

Try that then i'l tell you which ports you need to connect up on the AVCR's solenoid. It isn't the same as using an actuator.

Ill take a look tomoz mate but darren at tm fitted and plumbed it all in then afr mapped it i might have it wrong in my head ill check tomoz.
