Will soon be putting a gt turbo loom in my sportif 1998. My questions are do the speedos have the same mounting points and also does the ignition barrel plug fit from the gt to the sporfif ?

The GT clocks don't fit the EP91 dash and the ignition barrel plugs are different mate. Usually best using a V loom for the swap. Makes things a lot easier.

The wiring is quite a bit different in a GT loom compared to a Sportif loom, in the way the circuits are wired not just the what is wired.

Rather than touch the interior loom you are best splicing the GT loom into the Sportif loom, leaving the main wiring, starting and charging circuits in place and fitting the engine controls from the GT loom in the n/a looms place.

The GT dash loom will give you a lot more problems than the ignition and clocks, rear lights and fuel tank are a lot different.

thanks for that advice wee john, from what i have read on here you are the man wen it comes to conversions etc.

still worried to hell now about wiring, probably more so about the splicing thing.i have the ecu and engine bay wiring, take it thats all of what i need,or do i need a plug or two for the other ecu plug,im sure i do actually ?

You have everything you need, but its one of those jobs when you start it there is no going back really. Take your time and e every wire you cut label it at both ends, you dont need to know what every wire is, as long as you remove all the engine control wires from the ecu plugs out to the engine bay, you can reconnect the same wires from the other loom in their place.

what about the 3 plugs that are near the 26 pin on gt loom ?

wee john theres 3 more plugs that go to the interior 25cm from the main ecu plug.i dont know about these, and also havent got a wiring diagram for these ?

the ecu ones easily available but i dont know about these ?

You will strip these off when removing the engine controls, all the engine controls are connected to the ecu plugs.
