Surely remote start modules have a failsafe in them that prevents them being activated when the car is in gear (Like an auto)?

Mate I've remote start on my ep82 too first thing they learn you about is do never put it in gear cuz of the remote start and those type of accident can happen. But be happy it went a bit in the water and not fully or not to a wall or something like that.

oh ok spose its a bit colder over there in winter. the coldest we get in winter is -5c.

but that leaves the question why leave it in gear? is the hand break not working very well

i just use the turbo timer for that, start it up set the timer for 10min or so, blast the heaters on full whack, key out, lock up, back in, brew. jobs a good un

ok. so basicly boils down to total bad luck. atleast she did suck in any of the water!! my mate resently did that with his skyline now he has to replace the motor (he deserves it tho, its what you get for driving through huge puddles)

Did this really happen, you actually found your car in a river? If so did you take any pictures? Not doubting you for one second just madness. It's quite common in the UK, they were invented in the States where most vehicles were auto and you physically can't leave it in Drive when you stop.

Hope you get it sorted, was it your canoe as well? :homer: :(

Cheers
