Just to note, mine weren't damaged as a result of a lean fuelling. It was lean reasoning that blew them. :haha:

howd you know if you have RAN lean?? just say you got the fuelling checked but still ran about with it unchecked but the car drove fine still. any way to tell?

Couple of simple ways but obviously getting a wideband air/fuel meter would be best:

After a some heavy driving you can either check the fumes of the exhaust stinks of petrol = overfueling, stinks of a rather bitter stench that stings your eyes = lean lol OR you can check your plugs again after some full throttle driving but be careful as its obviously hot. If i remember correctly reason for driving first is to get a lil more accurate reading.

There is a spark plug chart you can compare to, search forum.

Just to mention im not 100% sure i am correct so others please feel free to disagree.

how did you manage to do 3 engines in a month? did you not think of getting the fueling checked after the first engine failed? :p

Another snippet - as Chris states, you cannot rely on the plugs to indicate fuelling seeing as these cars run lean off boost. You would ideally need to switch off the engine immediately after boosting to see any fuelling results on the plugs. Even then it's much easier with a wideband.
