See on the subject of Chavs, I mind i was driving up the motorway to head to Braehead shopping centre and i passed an EP82, now i normally wave to owner starlet/glanza owners but on approach i then notice the baseball bunnet on his head.

Next what do i know him and his Chav-ette think its a hoot to try and race me ... obviously i didnt bite, takes alot for me now to bite, just cant be arsed with it .. especially when i know that when i dont bite, i get one over on them.

But yup its a not a good thing PistonHeads have created our own section, especially when we have 120 cars in it already, bloody Nova's have 30!! But suppose they disintegrate.

At home I am pretty sure I have the only starlet, and haven't seen a single one. But I'm at uni in brighton and have seen a couple and have heard through a local jap car club that there are 2-3 about- so this is still a tiny amount! So doesnt bother me too much for the time being...I just hope they don't just suddenly become super popular!

from personal experiance it seems that gt's are rarer than glanzas, and gt's are getting increasingly hard to get hold of now so the prices will prob start going up

It's the same here, But a quality Starlet Turbo EP91 or EP82 is hard to come by

they will never appeal to chavs in the way that corsa's, saxo's etc do

they are far too expensive for starters. average price of a fairly stock 1994 - 1995 GT is about 3 grand

for 3 grand you could buy an 03-04 Saxo VTS with about 30k on the clock! and even less for a Corsa SXI or Saxo VTR

And the parts are way too expensive. imagine slamming a starlet into a kerb (like all chavs do) and wrecking the driveshafts/cv joints. to repair that, the chav owner would have little change from £1000 (for the parts alone from Toyota) as they are not exactly scrapyard finds, and as far as i'm aware Toby and Dave can't get driveshafts.

Same applies to bumpers, wings, windows etc. Saxos, corsas etc can be very very cheaply modified using aftermarket universal crap, wheras starlets can't
