Where is a nice spot to live in Cork Ireland??

Hello tgtt and pals.

My days in Australia is coming to an end and I am going home to Ireland.

I want to move to Cork as I always liked the place and the people are great sport.I am looking for a place near the sea and not to fair from the shops as my girl hasnt a car yet.I will be planing on working in a foodstore (IE) Tesco till I get on my feet and most of all I want a safe place for my girl and my car as I might be doing night shifts. Is rent much there too for a two bed house?

where would you think would be a nice spot to start of new in Cork then people.Even links would do..

Thanks Stephen

Thinking somewhere near the sea then crosshaven probably your best bet,, for jb oppourtunities though, youd be better off heading closer to the city, somewhere in the suburbs, although crosshaven is only about 15/20 mins drive from city centre.

Your mad coming back to this country...

I'm planning on getting out of here, if I were you I'd stay put mate cause this country is getting worse by the day! Nothing but cuts and the price of living is mental.

Monkstown will be expensive(very quiet though)
Passage(where i live)isn't a bad spot either!
10/15 mins away from douglas(tesco's,M&S,dunnes, etc)carigaline(Lidl,Dunnes, etc)Mahon Point and not far from town either!

Thanks for all the info and thanks to the cork lads too.I know Ireland is in bits but it is time to come home for a bit and we are just after getting married so i am sure you all know the way.
