My question is, how'd you go about getting the wiring through the grommets? Been trying today with a real amateur cutting job done to the parcel tray, and all I did was mess it up worse. Looks about what I'm after. Pity the stock model '97 didn't come with door speakers. :(

Managed to get it done - ended up taking it to a mate who had an impact wrench. :D Back to riding even again.

Yeah I think replacing all of them would be the best option and do it myself so it's torqued properly. Will get a cheap one from the wreckers just to install the last spring so it's sitting even for now. The shock could have been cross-threaded - oh well. Thanks for the feeback.

The shock absorbers are not OEM. We did go about it like a bull in a China shop, and not exactly the best way - however, even when we tried rectifying the problem with the proper solution (being an adjustable wrench holding the tip whilst a spanner spins the bolt off), it's just too stuck. It's...

A mate of mine, and fully qualified mechanic have hit a snag when installing Jamex springs into the already existent shock absorbers. The fronts went in just fine, no problems but as soon as we hit the rear we just couldn't get the damn top bolt from the shock removed so as to put the new spring...

Will be putting up a thread at some point before Monday -crosses fingers- of progress and with pictures for evidence that my car is not an invisible apparition. Cheers for the patience.

Mine is awful: Saas podfilter - Repco Silicone radiator piping - That is all...for now. And tomorrow is Jamex lowering springs. Running stock 4E-FE (sad huh, but gotta start somewhere I guess). Let me know via PM or whatever of any decent places in Auckland you get your gear from if pos.

Someone mention Jamex..? Glad someone else has bought Jamex brand springs - am buying a set today, and have been reading as many reviews as possible. Seems pretty 50/50 (some total rubbish, some decent). You reckon they were worth it? Personal star rating out of 10?

So that's my only option then - damn. Oh well, thanks heaps for that. Will see what I can do to upgrade suspension, brakes for now and save up in a year's time for the whole engine swap. Should go in no hassles huh. I'm running a manual and definitely not changing to auto trans.
