myself i bought a used 1.8t vw passat fuel pump for 13 us dollars and i've been running for about 4 years now, no problem whatsoever.

hmmm, from what i remember is more noisy when hot, need to confirm tho.

it runs ok, no drop on boost or anything i can feel, right now the cars pulls great.

The timing is spot on... i think, i took the car to check the timing with a timing light, and i supposed the cam timing is ok. Head and cams never been off.

i gotta add that when i bought the engine, the timing belt was stuck with some plastic part of the cover, i heard that this engine is a non-interference engine, is that right??? also, one day when i was in the highway the "new" timing belt i had snap. Could this have damage the head?? ANDDDD...

nah, if the wheels spin in the opposite direction you have an open diff or a helical lsd.

The only way to know that you have a helical lsd is to take the driveshaft out and take a look into the gbox you should see something like a coin instead of a shaft of the normal lsd, or taking the gbox apart, or doing a burnout and try to see if you are leave 2 equal marks in the street:p

If you are talking about a normal box that could possibly have an aftermaket lsd on it, then you could have a helical lsd, i have one and it works like an open diff in normal conditions. If it´s the lsd box that came on some starlets then no.

quick question to help other user on that, did you sorted the flywheel before installing the 2nd clutch or after?
