120mph in 3rd

i was speaking to some1 with a mk1 gt earlyer in my local petrol station and he seems to think his speed limeter is at 120mph when i thought it was at 112mph and it done this in 3rd gear the car was standerd with the only mod being a BOV and a supposid gold plated exhaust is this possible or it he just chatting waffle:confused:

he rekons he got 120 mph in 3rd? chatting shit id say! if its standard its restricted to 112mph so his speedo is probably reading high or summin or most likely having u on mate

the jap limiter wood be around 120mph 112mph is 180kph an mine goes past that b4 she hits the restricter.
as for doing it in 3rd i find dat hard to believe unless e has no rev limiter or a 4 speed gear box r sum strange gear set

doubt it would do it in third gear without redlining to f**k they are supposed to be limited to 112 but so many hav been messed with u dont know wot u got unless u had the car from brand new in good old tokyo lol

dont know how different the ratios are between a gt and a glanza but there is noway u could hit 120mph in a glanza in 3rd, when mine was restricted i managed to get 122mph down hill on the restrictor. they arent spot on the 112. they vary slightly. and i could get the the restrictor in 4th but only just

If this guy is doing stupid speeds in low gears we need to know what car it is, so if it comes up for sale we can avoid it...

that what i thought just dnt wanna say anythink and my self sound like a dick. should of knowen he said he got another gt what is a limeted limited edition light weight moddle witch was 272whp on a ct9 hybrid

well he did say he brought it 4 a £900 so prob is about 2 blow up still really cant imagin it doing 120 in 3rd

dont think anyones mentioned the following....

from memory, i could hit 120kph in third before i change to 4th, so looks like hes mixing kph and mph up

from memory you'll hit the limiter at around 100 mph in 3rd. and 272whp on a ct turbo? doubt it :homer:

Ive always wondered what happens after 180 does the needle just keep going around the dial whats the dials top speed ?
