4efte boost problem

hi a buddy of mine is having boost problems with his ep82.

car boosts to .6 bar up to 4500-5000 rpm and after this the boost drops off down to near .2bar.

I have checked intercooler piping and it all is in good condition.

I disconnected the vac line off the actuator and it was still the same.

there is a blow in the manifold before the turbo (small leak) would this be enough to cause a drop in boost?

there was a new engine put in along with a fmic. never went right since. intercooler is dirty so will give it a clean but I don't think that's whats causing the drop in boost.

any ideas?

Yes the blow out on the manifold could be causing your issue going on what I've seen in the past. I'd suggest sorting it first then seeing how it behaves after.

thanks jay ya that's first on my list tonight. while im doing that im gonna check the turbo and stuff.

im going to pressure test the intercooler to rule that out.

anyone have any other ideas?

check the exhaust manifold/turbo gasket, check leak the all pipes of turbo, check the blow off spring
