A new toy :)

hey everybody,

i just bought a new little toy.

always liked the "old school" mini's and came across one i liked so i thought,,,, what the heck :p
its a 1988 1 litre mayfair model :)
so its not that fast,, but i know it handles really really well :)
its got a stage one rally kit on it already.

ill post up pictures when i have it at my house, the guy i bought it from is ceaning it etc.

anybody one here have one or has had one?
any views or exprience with them? :)

i have a mini clubman at the moment. 1971 planing some engine work =)

had a round nose mini and a clubman van. what years is yours? and condition??

edit: just seen its an 88.

my couzin has a mate who has put the engine from a glanza in it and he says it is fast as fuk and can accelerate going round corners !!!

hey dude,

just edited the thread,, its a 1988 1 litre mayfair,,, its an austin mini.

condition is good.
it has aftermarket wide arches (not stupidly wide) and one of them is a bit rusty,, but they look easy enough to replace.
recently had a paint job so it looks mint :)
any ics of yours :D

my couzin has a mate who has put the engine from a glanza in it and he says it is fast as fuk and can accelerate going round corners !!!

corners are the best thing about them haha!!

mine is a hydro elastic model (not like the metros gos down from one side) mine is still original and sits perfect.. i lowered it alot and handles amazing!!

totaly know what you mean :)
mine is pretty slow,, but corneres are so much fun,,,,,

tyres are REALLY wide on my ones,,, so i reckon when its wet it will be crappy

its in my garage... bit change from the pics in the garage but youl get the idea.. rims are next for me and arches. then start some work on the engine.

yeah was thinking for a vtec yO too but i think will leave it "classic sports" some head work on a 13cc head using the 1000cc block flywheel etc etc..

theres a guy in malta who used a fiat uno fire head on a 1098 mini block! and he said its faster than a 1300cc. also there are some b16s minis, turbo minis, supercharged and the list goes on..

i know man,,,,

some CRAZY mini's out there,

my mate showed me a dvd with the 10 most crazy mini's in the UK...
just scary some if it........

but oh well :) ill see what ill end up doing with it :)

cant wait till i get it though!
will post pics today or tomorrow,,, weather dependant:p
