Absolute idiot on the road today

Hello all

Coming back from work today in my car at around 7:00 when towards the last few miles off my journey i have this black BMW on my tail. I was driving normally at around 30mph and she was constantly trying to overtake me but couldn't due to oncoming traffic, islands, traffic lights etc.

It was getting very close as she was inches from my rear bumper and i knew if hit the break she would have gone into the back of me and i don't want any hassle and would have probably made some excuse up to get out of it

When i pulled over she stopped at the side of me, gave me loads of swears, finger gestures which i replied to in the same fashion.

She was fuming for some reason, i'm a bit concerned as she may still want to get her own back and may have taken my reg, she could know somebody who works for the police of DVLA and get somebody around to where or even get somebody to drive around the streets, although i pulled over before i went into the street which i live in order to carry out some damage to my car.

Just wondering if she could do any of this. By the way she was an asian woman most likely Indian, around 35 years old and her black BMW was either an 08 or 58 reg one.

Any views on this, anything i should be looking out for or anything i need to do i.e. report it to the police.

I wouldnt worry about it mate. If I posted every time I had a run in with someone on the road the site would crash :p

Hey pet as was said dont worry about if she is anything like me she was just having a bad day...we can all get like that...

I believe the correct procedure when being tail gated at 30mph is to drop it into 2nd whilst maintaining speed wait till the fucker is right behind you then just briefly stand on the brakes before flooring your right foot and putting about 200 yards between you, if circumstances repeat then repeat step 1 until they realise ;)

And when they run in to the back of you and push your tiny car in to oncoming traffic or under a truck you can marvel at the great advice that is given on here sometimes. :eek:

it WAS meant to be tongue in cheek fella and was never intended to be serious advice in any way, but then again i thought most people would realise that..........

oh and if it should happen again and you get someone giving you the gestures and language just smile and say thanks, dont stoop to there pig headed levels you will feel a lot better for it too i hope :D

Personally i feel i did the reasonable thing by pulling over cos she would have continued to stay within a couple of inches of my bumper.

Its a rare thing as i've not had an experience like that for a couple of years as i drive sensibly.

to be fair if this is the first time sumones put there fingers up at you or got a rage going on ure either lucky or a new driver lol, i get it all the time, i point and laugh, enfuriates people. to be fair though pulling over was the sensible solution.

i really wouldnt worry about them knowing sumone in the police or dvla, they need proof of wrong doing, lot of security on that sorta rubbish ide ave though

i could write a fucking essay on the amount of encounters ive had.

I drive pretty much everywhere every day as im an electrician. Oh the stories i could tell you...

I really wouldnt worry about it :)

I normally just show the break lights by touching with my left foot not actually slowing down though.
