Alarm boot and bonnet trigger?

I've got a supposed cat 1 viper 460xv installed in my Glanza, however the cat 1 status states there must be a trigger for boot and bonnet opening, yet the installers haven't wired this up, but have given me a certificate anyway.

Could anyone tell me how hard it is to put a trigger for the boot and the bonnet opening in, I'd rather not drill holes if possible but i cant see the boot having a sensor as standard to operate the interior light or anything?

Cheers

i didn't pay mate, it was the lad that had it before, and getting to him and back for the car was a pain in the arse, no point me doing an 8 hour round trip for that is there when i could do it myself?

Can someone take a pic of where there bonnet and boot pin switches are mounted for their alarm?

Legally it's not a cat1 then. However mines is a cat 1 and I haven't any wires to the boot what so ever, however if you open it and the alarm still armed it will go off, I assume because of the motion sensors?

I cant see it being approved if you have amended the original installation, I would contact them about it.

_iforget_glanza_ Mate i'm only asking for a pic of where the boot and bonnet pin switch have been mounted? These would be perfectly visible to anyone looking under your bonnet or even if you show anyone a pic of your engine bay, its certainly nothing that could help anyone steal the car.

Paul_JJ Mines the same as yours mate, no pin switch but opening the boot triggers the motion sensor, like you say its not following the guidelines for a cat one(neither is yours if its been setup like that :/) which is why I would feel safer if I added the sensors myself because I already have the certificate and everything.

i thought the idea of a sensor etc.. on the bonnet was to prevent anyone but yourself from opening it without settin off the alarm?

Sorry mate, didn't see your reply, the company is miles away from me mate so if I just connect up the wires they haven't I can't see there being an issue, I don't use my alarm for cheaper insurance anyway just to protect the car.

Thats correct mate, but by showing me a pic isn't gonna enable me to steal anyones car not that I'd want to. Basically if the switch is installed correctly it will sound the alarm as soon as the bonnet is opened regardless, thats why I want a pic so I can install mine as a pro would.

If it triggers the alarm why having the pin???? Mine's professionally installed, I paid for it.

I know mate mines the same, and was professionally installed also at a so called reputable dealers. Its just apparently thatcham requirements state boot triggers are needed not relying on the interior sensors so i'm gonna add mine in :)

Where is it normally fitted in the boot? I'll have a look on mine. Cause I have thatcham certificate of approval. And I can always come back to the guys who installed it for me.

I'm not sure mate it will be somewhere around the edge of the boot so it presses when shut, what alarm have you got because if like mine you may have an LED which tells you which zone was triggered. For example althout theres no pin switch when i opened the boot it triggered the alarm, but the LED said it was the ultrasonic zone triggering it :)

Yeah i've got the cert too mate but you never know they may have been slack like my installers :/ If you can take yours back then you may aswell do that tbh lol
