Alternator Not Charging

It was my understanding that the RX7 was a premium motor, for it's day.

When the RX8 came out, it was well less so premium.

I prefer the styling of the 7, I prefer the two door. Obviously the turbos are a big win, although I can't see turboing the 8 as a challenge?

I'm sure the 8 is a great car, but it simply had a hard time matching up to it's predecessor.

I'll have a look at the earthing situation when the battery goes to the boot.

Unfortunately I've discovered a worrying about of rust beneath the offside rear sill when I was removing trim this weekend. I think this will need tending to when the weather gets better. Luckily the plastic hides it so the job doesn't need to be beautiful just functional.

What's that then Jay??

That link to those Fiesta Sills?

That's a cheap price.

I wonder how much fabrication is needed to get them to fit then?

That would be worth fitting if I find mine are ruined :(

They don't look bad, unfortunately my car has had a hard life before I got it.

Love the 8, my mum has had it from new but 112k and 11 years later it's starting to require a bit too much attention..

The arse appears to be rusting off it which is a shame.

Speaking of rust, yes EP's will need rustproofing as soon as is possible. This will prevent issues further down the line, wish I had figured this out earlier tbh :

bloody hell. that has done well. mine has only done 16k miles ;) i did notice the rust is a problem on them when i was looking around at them. mine is really good, but the salt on the uk roads have meant it looks worse underneath than any of my starlets that are twice the age!

Rear arches and the sill in front of the rear tyres seem to be a weak spot Duncan. Also around the raised brake lamp in the bootlid for some reason. My mr2 had less rust ffs.

Lovely driving thing though.

standard places on mx5s to rust too. i had some rust just starting on the rear brake light. i have dealt with that though. its a poor design that allows water and shit to collect on an edge. i also had some small rust spots where the rear door seals touch the sill, another common issue, but has been dealt with.

is a very nice drive, especially for a sports car. just a little thirsty ;)

There is a lot to be said about the rotary engine.

I have heard that the economy for these engines can be greatly improved with some modern technology, but unfortunately people are happy to not utilise the technology.

The new RX could be something special though.

The RX series has usually been light years ahead in terms of design concepts.
