sick of seeing these questions myself.... but....

my head gasket is gone on the 4e, so i have 2 options...

1 is 4e, get head skimmed and a metal head gasket, nd it be grand...., what thickness gasket tho?

and 2 is 5e, i have a 5efhe here in the shed, im thinking of puting new bearings, rings, metal head gasket, GT pistons, and using this engine.....

my set up is this,

speedvision cams, and hybrid ct9,
toms tec ecu,
sard fpr, not needed with ecu i no but set to 2.7bar,

so the question is....

would the ecu be ok for the feuling on the 5e,
ive seen afew for sale on standard ecus so i dno....
ill be using gt injetors, and i could raise feul presure to compensate?
is the gain from the 5e worth building it,
reliable?

or should i just do the head gasket on the 4e....

You have to ask yourself what its going to be used for tbh. If its just a town blaster then a 5E would be better due to the extra torque.

stock ecu can be used on the 5e very low boost and the ct9 but the ct9 is just to smal for the 5e so here comes tdo4 bigger injectors and get it mapped alreaddy spending more money

in my eyes not worth it if ur just going to run it stock modify the 4efte instead , unless u plan on doing it right then go 5e route

ct9 hybrid is what you have now
in that case, stick to the 4e
that turbo is way too small for a 5e

and you will need an adjustable piggyback/standalone ecu if you go to the 5e to get the most out of it

For the sake of handiness stick a headgasket on and continue to enjoy her mate. The 5E is a nice upgrade but it could be a lot more hassle to build and run. No point overcomplicating matters!
