basically iv got mcloeds old head with batch one cams and cruise springs in, i set the timing marks on the inside of the rocker (on the cam gears) so they were in line then boshed on the cam belt gear and the 4e mark was 1 or 2 teeth over (to the right) from the 4e mark on the cap, set the timing with a gun today and i cant rotate the dizzy quite far enough to get it spot on the 10, im about 1 or 2 lines before it. im thinking that the internal marks are to unison the cams and the external 4e is timing, is that right in wich case im slightly out atm, easy job to move it over just wanted to know what others have them set at.

cheers guys

p.s she feels a tad slugish off boost not sure if its the nature of the cams or an idicator to the teeth being out?

glad u got it running now man!! ill leave the cam technical info for other people, but i assumed cams were quite sluggish low down/off boost, but move the power band higher up the rpm range due to the higher lfit....but could be well and truly wrong

the standard marks on the cam belt gear with the 4e guide not the standard marks inside the engine on the cam gears?

Ok, did you line up the marks on the bottom pulley to match up with the notch on the oil pump?

Yea i did, the only one thats out is the 4e mark on the timing belt camgear, but the cam gears themself are lined up. Is it worth trying to move the timing belt camgear back to the 4e mark?

Buming this up guys, still stuck, are the marks on the gears just an install guide? Shud i adjust the cambelt cam gear so it lines up with the 4e mark?

If these were running fine before, why not ask mcleod or Nick@Tuning Dev and see how they had them lined up?

spoke to nick he said they all lined up before, and all three marks on the cams/gears should line up like the oem's, just dont get it tbh, maybe my dizzys fooked but they defo dont line up, and i cant put the belt gear on wrong as it only goes on the locater :( soo pissed have spent 1k between these and cruise cams and there all shite!! should of got daves cams, ill post some pics tomorrow and you will see the problem, spoke to sam at speedvision and he said mcloed had em for over a year so he wants to talk to him first before he would consider swapping the exhaust cam. im soo gutted atm

The marks on the cam gears are there to align the cams, to set your timing you need to align the 4e marks, you crank pulley mark should be on 0 while your cam pulley mark should be 4E against the mark on the head all this with the cambelt tensioned, then start the engine and align your dizzy with a timing light to read 10 degrees on the crank pulley, hope that helps you out...;-)

Chhers for the imput bud, thats exactly how it is now iv knocled it one tooth over so now the 4e lines up but the cam gear dots are one tooth off being horizontal. I also changed the dizzy and re gunned it. it runs a tad better but it still feels like its being held back :(
