big end torque settings

looking for the torque settings for big end bearings heard they where stage 1 20nm, stage 2 40nm but when i thightend them at that that didnt feel tight enough just wondering was that right?

40NM in one go is the rated torque for stock bolts, what didnt feel tight enough, how much pressure was on them? You have to remember that the force is relative to the bolts composition, it factors in stretch and the temp it is to work in as well. You could put a breaker bar on there and swing on them with your foot on the socket but all you would do is weaken the bolt.

Only other thing you need to consider is if the torque wrench is reading correctly.
