sounds like a lot of work I’m new to all of this lol trying to keep things simple though if switching to drums saves me (literally) in the long run I’d rather do that just not sure what all goes into converting it
Have you tried moving the lever on the calipers by hand yet ? Pry bar or something

I forgot where you lived Bud :)
If you need any help getting a seal kit and posting we will be glad to assist
Given your location Japan maybe your best option

I'd stick to whatever is installed, the price of the conversion parts alone would put me off unless there was a cheap donor car going.

Near sure I sold my last seal kit, but you can tap those numbers above into Amayama.com and see what the shipping is like to Guam (can remember it was a bit costly last time).

The prices of the seal kit are pretty good by the looks of it:

Just ordered two for the front and rear, wasn’t aware of this site but by the looks of it their prices are pretty fair compared to competitors. Thank Jay!

Was able to order through amayama, shipping wasn’t bad about $20-$30 USD and was able to order a set for the front and rear to rebuild the seals.

My first time ordering, I usually don’t find out about import taxes until it reaches the island of Guam but so far I haven’t been charged any import taxes on car parts.

I rebuilt my first rear calipers yesterday. Once you work out how it all comes apart, it's not a bad job. I rebuilt them with a genuine seal kit and everything fits a dream. I have found an aftermarket kit for half the price, so will see what they are like in comparison ;)

Where did you find the aftermarket kit?

Wasn't hard to find, was like the third link down on a Google search!

I've used parts from them before and they have been almost OEM quality imo.

Turned up today and looks decent. Has exactly the same parts as the genuine kit.

Will fit them to the calipers I removed and feed back if they are any good.

Just refurbed the set I took off the car. These were in worse condition than I thought :(

Managed to get them to an ok standard and used the aftermarket rebuild kit.

I would say it's not quite as good as genuine. Probably 95% there though. Based on the price and the fact that most calipers now are going to be pretty ropey now, this is a really cost effective way of giving them a good few years extra. I don't personally see the point in spending twice the cost on the genuine stuff.

Anybody have any actual part numbers to share? I ordered some seal kits for my calipers exact part numbers and the seals look like they’re too big, o-rings are much bigger than the fitting itself. I’m not in the UK so I’m not able to source from certain sites shared.

had to rebuild a brake line that was rusted through…trying to find a fix to my brake system with the limited knowledge I have lol so I can take this bad boy back with me to the US.

The larger O-rings sit in a groove larger than the piston so that sounds right tbh.

Have you taken the piston out of the caliper yet?

If you take a pic of your caliper, the part number ordered and a measurement of the o-ring I can compare to one here.

Lmao I’m a novice so I took the parts out the pack looked at the fittings of the caliper and that was it lol. I’ll take some time off work and reengage next weekend but I should be okay given the o-rings are supposed to be larger. I didn’t know it fit in a grooved area that was larger than the piston.
