it opens sooner than the standard one so will allow the coolent to move around the engine at a lower temp i.e on cold startups :) once warm i dont think they make any difference lol

The Sard Low Temperature Thermostat is a great alternative for those that are looking to upgrade from the stock Starlet stat. It is also ideal for engines pushing high horsepower and/or that are used for track events.

Sard's thermostat opens at 68 degrees celsius (154F) compared with the stock stat which opens as 76.5 degrees celsius. By reducing the opening temperature the Sard thermostat increases coolant circulation and reduces performance bottlenecks caused by engine heat increasing performance and efficiency.
