Cleaning my Gearbox for painting... Any recommended methods?

As above guys, I want to clean my gearbox for painting.

Ive tried wonder wheels and a wire brush but it proves difficult in the smaller more awkward bits. Was wondering if anyone else had managed a different way?

I used a wire wheel in a drill for the bulk of it, then a dremel with a small grinding stone or wire brush fitment on it for the really small parts.

To get most of the grime etc off use Gunk.

I did buy a smaller wire brush for the drill, wasnt quite getting it all. Shall persevere though

x2 Super stuff, thats what i used for all my parts and the engine bay on my project. Small wire brush head in a drill for the hard to get areas also.

Can vouch for any of the Gunk products, their ace! Bring anything up clean.

that gunk stufs the bombhowever if u really want an excelent finish i would recomend sandblasting
