I've coolant spraying from the thermostat pipe that goes to the water pump. Is this common and is this hard to change? Any guides would be great. Thanks Liam

Is it the one that goes around the back of the engine? I can imagine its a simple job, just a pain to do because of the location behind the engine.

Yep that's the one it seems to be spraying around where the pipe meets the housing around the metal clip. Looks awkward as you say though

Shouldn't be leaking from there mate. There is an O-ring around the end of the pipe where it fits into the waterpump. Very possible that could be your issue.

Sorry jay i meant to say it's from the thermostat housing side that pipe then it runs around the back or the engine? Spraying like a good un.

What are these pipes like to change I think they join metal half way at the back of the engine or does it go straight from the thermostat to the water pump

Goes from the thermostat housing in a rubber pipe to a steel pipe that connects to the water pump. Check to see what's leaking first, the rubber 90 degree pipe or the steel pipe that runs along the back of the engine

They aren't too bad to change. Two clips hold it in place, the pipe is an odd angle so it's just a bit fidgety.

Either a split pipe or a loose clip so I'll pick you out a fresh set when you are in mate.

Had a quick look there the pipes split. I'm assuming the starter motor needs removed to get at the clip. Can't seem to get amythibg on it

Just looked at my auto and I can get longnose pliers to the clip no problem. Although if whoever put the clip on there didn't think ahead it could be rotated out of reach.
