Creaking noise from passenger side when applying power, forward or reverse.

My car has started creaking/clunking quite badly when i pull away, reverse, its coming from the passenger side footwell, sounds more to the centre of the car.

What should i be looking out for? I am assuming its somthing to do with the driveshaft as it does it when i apply power.

Check the main bolt in the wishbone and check the condition of the bush at the same time.
Check the ARB bushes aswell.

Also inspect the metal around the gearbox mount to the chassis. that may crack over time.

id could be the back engine mount... one way of testing 2 see if this is the problem is to pull up the handbrake fully, select first and try to pull away not letting the car cut out.. clutch in, clutch out if ya know what im mean... if you hear the clunking noise inspect your back mount as this could well be your problem

Had the same problem on my old starlet - that was the exhaust pipe - check your exhaust!
