Has anyone here actually tried them ?
Looking to upgrade and really wanted some on a 280mm rotor so that I could keep my 15 rims and tyres I have but in need of a big brake setup very soon and these are looking like a good match :p
Wanting to find out feedback on them.

Seen them on one car, look super mega overkill to me. I reckon they'll be too good on a light car and be useless.

nobody uses them because there just pointlessly overkill, 8 pot brakes are ridiculous on a starlet you will just lock up at nearly every hard brake.

go for the 4 pots you wont be disapointed

I need to sort somethign out within the next 3 working days for a track day coming up. Been looking at willwoods and also some st185 brakes, not sure what to use but getting a little desperate now hehe
seen the thread on st185, thought they were twin pot all this time. anwyays based on time i might try that if not will try source some nissan 4 pots but not sure what disc is required with them, making up brackets isnt the problem but finding the correct dscs for around the 270-280mm mark is where my problem is.

if you want something within 3 days the wilwood / toy tuning 4 pot kits will be the only option,

i very much doubt you will find and be able to make all the crap needed for them

with the st185, are you sure the calipers are only single pots ?

What were the main problems you faced ?

Mate I would gladly buy one of those kits but it wouldnt get to me in time (Im in New Zealand),

Depending on if UK or JDM I think..or the year cant remember, the calipers are 2 POT. I had some.

Ball ache.

Got some Levin calipers now, 2 POT. Needs extended wheel nuts, spacers made to fit behind disk and discs diameter machined down.

Not too much trouble I guess when you know how.

single pots buddy, as i went on the celica owners club and they all said the single pots where miles better than the twin,

main problems i found was firstly they where not a direct bolt on like i was told they would be.

had some custom spacers made up andto get the discs to fit in the center of the calipers had to use a 7mm spacer which leaves the wheels off the hubs so only the studs hold the wheel on basically.

the breaking is better than the standard GT brakes dont get me wrong but not worth the hassle.

by time id finished buying calipers, pads, discs, spacers i could have bought a 4 pot kit for a couple of hundered more and had less hassle and a better fit with better braking.

thanks guys, will be trying to re use the same 5x100 disc and redrill (yes i know its not that pretty) but like i said, would like to get it sused for this weekend.

Got a donor car but they are twin pots, and yeah the disc is a a 254mm
Instead of spacing the discs, will be trying to space the calipers, i think i need 3mm for the twin pots

update you guys soon.

hey man haha nah have a few people that have redrilled other rotors including a race car and it is fine, can fill in old holes if really needed.

havent draged a starlet since probably 2005, raced a supra though.
Been focussing on track racing. Much more fun and regularly keep up with the big boys haha.
