i was out last night and a engine here has a boot type dizzy cap, i have a clip type one here that new. took the old one off and compared them and where the two bolt hole are on both caps there pins where differently lined up
like take the boot type one, the bolt holes are at a say 45 deg angle just like on the engine, the 4 pins are in a square shape if your looking straight it, and if the clip type is exactly at the same bolt angle its more of a diamond shape? crude drawing below
