distributor replacement

just make sure the rotor arm is pointing the same way as the one you remove. you can get it 180 degrees out. there are marks on the distributor you can line up that you will notice once removed.

after fitment, recheck the base ignition timing to make sure it is at 10 degrees. other than that it is a pretty simple swap. i would suggest replacing the o-ring seal if you havnt already, these often leak when they get old and crispy!

ass above for changing the dizzy ^^^^. and the timing you want to open the diag plug under the engine bay. and with a paper clip bridge te1 & e1 this puts the car in static timing mode, the engine management light should flash (make sure it does). also on the pulley wheel mark the pointer and the 10 btdc mark on the cambelt cover with tipex. with the light flashing away rotate the dizzy cap till the to white marks align then nip her up.

Will not doing any of the above cuase her not to start??

it should start still but it will run like a bag of crap if the timing is out 2 far. and will hesitate in low revs. other way is to mark where the old 1 comes off, but for peice of mind set the timing as they have normaly been moved in there lifetime

Try removing the distributor, turn it 180 degrees and refit it. See if that works first
