do i need a afr if running 170-180bhp ?

basically im going to be getting a fuel cut defender soon so i can run at 1 bar of boost do i need a air and fuel regulator such as apexi safc or are they for more 200bhp plus. cheers

i think there is a confusion with yours words:
1/an air fuel regulator is a piggyback
2/fuel regulator is meaning that there is a pressure. you can think a fuel pressure regulator

AFR is a ratio , it is a target ratio that you would have at idle and on boost ...and to obtain these desirated ratio at a certain boost , you have many ways:
1/a piggy back
2/injectors
3/fuel pressure regulator
etc
 
you might need to fit a fuel pressure regulator get the car on rolling road and have afrs checked asap after fitting fcd and upping the boost
