just curious if the midwing a.k.a ducktail spoiler has any aerodynamic function or is it purely an aesthetic item..? would it aid my high-speed handling in any way..? considering planting one on my ep91.
thoughts..?
ideas..?

I'll admit, it is handy to close the boot with. That's about the only function I can see the duckass spoiler making TBH.

Just for looks mate.
At the rate air is passing over the car, and hits the standard spoiler, the air pushes the spoiler ( in turn pushing the rear into the ground) and the air goes up up and away lol. Obviously for any spoiler to have any aerodynamic function you have to be travelling at a certain velocity.

I personally don't like the look of them, but everyone has their own opinion :)

Impossible to tell really unless you know a wind tunnel we can borrow, but I think they look cool.

aesthetics

@Arnold: lol. no. i'm all out of pocket portable wind-tunnels.. :D hehehe

well, i guess we are of the general concensus that they are more for aesthetic appeal than functional purpose..
