I brought an engine off these people in december cracked two pistons within one month (on standard boost only did about 300 miles with no fcd and on standard fuelling) but they were under a different user name its in the same location thou and the ebay pictures look fimiliar, so they swapped it for another engine which only lasted a few more months which began to get low on oil pressure when i took the sump off there was lots of little bits of metal swarf in the new engine, i took off the oil pump which was fucked aswell as the bearings i tried ringing the guy but he didnt answer and it was then out of warranty so i am currently forging my engine with the best parts from my original and the engine i got from them, they also had no proof to show it was gauranteed under 30,000 miles they could not even tell me what car it came out of, all i got was a little card which says under 30,000 miles. So now i am in the same position as when i started but with less money when i should of just rebuilt & forged it my original engine at the start.
And if you dont no how to rebuild an engine just save up a bit more and buy from a trader on here or a reliable company.

Hi,

we bought an engine off a company called "prestige engines" last year for a Nissan Navara pick up. After buying it and waiting a week we heard nothing. Called up and they told us they had gone bankrupt and had to close their business down and that there was nothig they could do.

It turns out they had filed for bankruptct BEFORE we bought the engine yet took payment for it regardless.

Luckily we bought it, for £5000, on a credit card and so filed a complaint with Visa and got it credited back.

I dont know if these are the same crew come back with a different company name.

We then went onto buy from a company called Tokyo Auto Spares in the UK and had no end of tourble with them. They said the engine would be there in two weeks, two months later it arrived. They sent a half built engine which was missing bits.

They also overcharged our credit card by £3000 which we had to file a complaint with visa with to get back as they refused to refund it.

MY experience of buying engines online has been a disaster... If I wasnt buying from a trader on here I would go and pick up the eninge... I would never ever buy an engine and have it delivered after the issues I had before.

Dont by from them smr engines are shit to be honest. My friend got one and when he took it appart it had non turbo con rods aswell as othr bits. Also i baught one and it went bang they are week. Also i work at toyota and we had an avensis traded in with very loud engine noise. when we took the cover off al the buckets were the wrong sizes and in the wrong places and a bad mess. personal experiance not good at all tbh

also - something I found out when trying to track down an engine for the navara is that the majority of places in Ireland that sell engines for Jap cars import them from the same engine places in the UK and then lash a load of profit on top.

Some of the engine places I spoke to in the UK told me of at least 5 of the big places that sell engines in Ireland.. they supplised the engines to...

So between the UK places taking months to deliver a half built engine and the places in Ireland selling it on to you for a very large profit... jesus I dont want to rant but its such a nightmare buying from these places. Everytime they overcharged me there was nothing I could do for 28 days as that how long you have to wait before you can file a claim with the visa company. At one point the credit card was up to 15k sterling trying to get an engine for the stupid navara

PS: if you are ever thinking of buying a nissn navara DONT. Thats a story for another day though.

No problem mully dont want no one getting ripped off i totally agree with sgturbo there engines are so weak, they seem to mix and match parts from engines not built for the power for example they would use 4efe parts in a 4efte and the gaskets they use are cheap crap and i think a blind man with some scissors and paper could cut out stronger gaskets then what they put in their engines
