last little hickup of the day. brake caliper keeps braking a bit.
prolly due to standing still half a year. so going to take it aaprt. after it cooled down a bit :p

brake graze

new pads and new rotors will give you some bit of brake grazing even with your foot off the pedal as there is a lot of surface both on the rotors and pads. if not too excessive, it will clear after a few hundred miles and the brakes bedded in proper. wouldn't worry too much unless it's actually slowing you down and not just noisy..

the brakes were on before the rebuild and were fine, and now it's slowing me down and the wheel gets hot :) so needs some work to sort it.
but waiting for the caliper to cool takes ages :D

jammed piston?

possible jammed slave piston..? give it about an hour and take it apart to see. you could always employ the help of a blower fan. does wonders.. don't envy you though.. :)

turned out to be the brake booster.
didn;t hold the vacuum correctly so when you release the pedal there is some pressure remaining in the brake hose/caliper.
the reason only front left was affected was that it has the shortest route from the master brake cylinder thus was first in line to hold a bit of pressure.

replaced the entire brake assembly and is working fine now :)

car is behaving well sofar :)

very pleased with the result as it's my first engine build ever.

suggestions on making it look better are always welcome (rep is welcome aswell)
and tips on running the car in are welcome aswell.
howmany miles should i run the car in? did the piston rings, big ends, crank bearings etc.

and for those who missed it, lots of building pics on the first page
