Engine dying out :(

I'm having an issue with the engine RANDOMLY shutting down. The car starts jerking RANDOMLY and then all of a sudden the rev plummets and my car shuts down. Any ideas what's wrong?

Have a look at all the sensors. MAP sensor, TPS, your fuel pump.
Could also be dodgy connections, could be a dodgy distributor.

had a similar problem with a friends car at the weekend. did a fault code check and it was coolant temp sensor. found the wires just after the plug had been rubbing together and worn through, sometimes it was ok, but now and again they would short and the engine would just die.

error code check first and go from there!

Does it restart straight after it stops?

Yeah it does. Turn the key to off and on again and its all good.

Ok will do a code check. It started happening as soon as I got a new turbo. The car ran fine without the turbo for like 2 months :S...
