I can get a 5e engine to go forged, but he said there was no oil in the engine and run has run it dry, My question is would the crank be damaged or the bottom end i.e sideways ?

thanks

if the engien has been run dry as in no oil

number 1: He knows nothing about mechanics
number 2: It will be a duff engine for sure
number 3: slap him

Crank will need a re-grind for sure.

As for other parts, you will only know until you take it apart.
Its £100, not exactly big money for an engine.

I would buy it for £100.
But i know what im doing with it :p

If a crank is re-ground properly, and the bearings are matched well, then there should be no reason for it to fuck up.
Look after an engine, and it will look after you.

Offer the guy £50 for it, he can only say no.

With a new oil pump, reground crank and the bores machined to match the new pistons it should be fine.
