What exactly is the problem? You might just need to re-gas the system, or if you have a leak you can identifiy where it's leaking from then replace that specific part.

Ok the problem, is that:
The a/c does not work all the time, sometimes it does, sometimes it does't.
Sometimes when its working it smells like rotten egg :yuk:
I was told that the a/c filter needs replacement, that's why I was asking where it is located. I have had the car for 3 year's now, and never had any issues with the a/c until a few months ago.
