EP82 Aircon - Any interchangeable parts from other Starlets that work?

Hey guys.

I've got an EP82 Starlet that had a fair bit of the air con gutted out by its previous owner. There's still alot of the lines and other parts in it so i want to put Aircon back in it for Summer. As getting the parts i need from an Ep82 will be near impossible, i was wondering if anyone knows if EP91 Starlets/Paseo's have parts i can put straight in?

Cheers.

The EP91 is the same gear, the Paseo is as well most likely :)

When you say EP91 do you mean the Glanza, or just the normal Starlet model? The reason I ask is I think the plugs from the factory set up are still in the engine bay (away from car at the moment so i cant check) but I cant remember what parts are missing from in there. So if i need to replace everything under the hood i'll need a set up that suits the plugs if possible - Unless there are any other ideas?

If you use toyodyi.com and enter your vin number, you can find the part numbers for the missing bits, copy the numbers then do a reverse search. That will show you all of the models that used the same (therefore compatible) part.

what age is your ep82? they changed alot of the pipework after 1991-1992 i believe. ep91 stuff could be made to fit, but i would say the plugs are probably different for the pump etc. plus the pipe run may be slightly different. there isnt much too it. if you can plug in the pump, the temp sensor at the front, the cooling fan and the pressure sensor then assuming they havnt ripped any of the bits from the inside of the car out, you should be good to go.

plugs & adapter a different for ep82 & ep91..but i would say that p91 gives u better cooling since the compressor is piston type..

What parts are you actually missing chap?

Most of the GT's I know have had their aircon systems ditched so whilst it's true the parts are rare those that can be sourced don't carry any real market value. It would just be the shipping you would have to worry about in most cases.
