Error Code 12

I'm getting error code 12 which is No RPM Signal or TDC signal. My rpm gauge works fine. But the car doesnt go on limiter like a normal starlet. Was brought to my attention that this maybe why my timing is not being able to set properly.

Any ideas?

Code 12 means the ECU isn't receiving the Ne or G signal from the distributor, so can't calculate spark advance.
The rev counter is fed by the coil igniter, so wouldn't be affected. Have you cleared the code and has it come back?

Either a wiring fault between the dizzy and ECU, or a faulty ECU or distributor will cause code 12.

Jam and Blitz ECU`s have a tendancy to throw this fault up sometimes, have you either of those fitted?
