just if anyone knows.

there was a link put up recently which seemed to show fhe cams had 1.2 mm more lift on exhaust side and slightly less on intake. just want to confirm this as i got fhe cams and they were only 0.02 or so bigger so concluded they were fe ones and gave them back!?

rep for smart people!

cheers dave, 1.2 mm would have been nice but maybe just a wee bit more will have to do.

this is some information i got from www.austarletclub.com a while back...basically the same as dave

valves are 28.6mm intake, and 24.5mm exhaust

stock 4efte cams are

intake: 7.2mm lift, open at 2 BTDC, close at 42 ABDC which is 224 degree duration - 110 centreline
exhaust: 7.0mm lift, open at 38 BTDC, close at 2 ABDC, which is 220 duration - 108 centreline

5efhe cams are

intake: 8.0mm lift, open at 4 BTDC, close at 56 ABDC which is 240 duration - 116 centreline
exhaust: 7.3mm lift, open at 46 BTDC, close at 2 ABDC which is 228 duration - 112 centreline

4e rods are 118mm centre 2 centre
5e rods are 130.429mm centre 2 centre

to this day i feel that the 5efhe cams would be nice to have if you could get them cheaply, easily , from a deal or if u bought a 5efhe engine which came with them.........but i'm not sure they are worth a massive hassle that some go through to get them

however, users should notice some benefits...but exactly how much is debateable based on your engine/head/tune/etc.

i guess every little bit counts with these relatively small displacement engines

oh yeah---have some rep dave
