Floorpan cracked?

Ive recently stripped a GT back to the bare minimum inside and thought I found a crack in the floor pan by the footwell.

However on further inspection it looks as if there is some sort of plastic coating on top of the bare metal in this area and I'm hoping thats all thats cracked, it looks as if it could quite easily be chipped away.

Could anyone shed some light on what this material is there for or what it is made from?

think its just the coating dude

thats some right sticky shit man get a boat load of thinners to rubb it all off with! or it will be like a scummy night club floor

its a twat to get off u have to use dry ice or the like i think !!
