Hello lads, has anyone had there engine forged and still running on the standard turbo, if so I know there will be a increase but is there a lot?? I'm going to take my car to racetech next year to have the engine completely forged but I'm going to run it on a standard turbo for a bit then I'm not sure what turbo to go for, I have heard the garret 28 is a bit of kit, can anyone tell me??

What do you mean increase? Increase in what?

The GT28 is a good turbo, but all depends what you want from the car? Is it a street car? Drag Car? Circuit racer?

Yes forging is good, and safe either
But depends on what you want your car for (Drag,Street car,Track car ,etc)

Hello, increase in power mate, to be honest the cars going to be used for a bit of both a bit of track and a bit of street but I want it running around about 350bhp, it's running 204 now on a standard turbo and pretty much standard bottom end

People have ran over 400bhp on forged engines but the stock turbo cannot produce any more than approx 200bhp - 204bhp on stock turbo is literally pushing it beyond its efficiancy and limit

Yeah, I have a print put at 0.9 boost with the dump valve blocked off and ct9 and 204bhp bearing in mind there is a lot of mods done, but now the engines going to be forged and updated turbo so will being seeing a lot more next year

There is no increase in power just from forging. You can however turn up to 1 bar on the ct9 if you have supporting mods

Its ok increasing the power but you also got lag to cope with. The GT28 on a 4E will be pretty laggy and probably won't be able to push a bar until around 3500rpm.

Front mount inter cooler, 330cc injectors, lightend and balanced fly wheel, hi flow street use inlet manifold, custom made manifold, billet cams, slightly bigger fins on ct9, ogura race clutch, emanage ultimate ecu, full powerflow system, different size head gasket for compression reasons, and lots more cant think off the top of my head

That'll be the cams and inlet then.

But slightly bigger fins on CT9? Reeeally?

And i also like the 'Different size head gasket for compression reasons' lol

Because the lower the compression ratio the more boost you can run, this means more boost = more power
