Forged Rebuild

hi ppl does anyone know roughly how much it is to do a forged rebuild yourself and what exactly needs done???

about 1200 to 1400 id say, you will need head skimming block skimming rebore and rehone on the bores, new head bolts gaskets water pump oil pump, etc

for ease is it best just gettin sum1 else to do it???

to do the engineer work i would, for instance supply an engineer with the bottom end and get them to fit the pistons bottom end bearings ring gaps etc and then build the rest of the engine yourself depending on how competant you are etc

i looked into it - to do it yourself properly - £13-1600 depending on maching costs - and thats you assembling everything bottom end.

Traders seem to sell them for £1800 plus.

I ended up getting bummed as i opted for a 2nd hand engine and paid £1200....it was shagged.

So if you got for 2nd hand, make sure you buy from a reputable member and have seen the engine running etc.
