gearbox sticking in low gears???

2 cables come from the cabin, that lead to the gearbox.They end in 2 circles with a pin through them.Make sure there on properlly first.Trace the cables back a little and check the 2 sliding clip things are on, there a U shape upside down (gold coloured) The avensis is bad for them popping off, makes hard/impossible to select gears.

well i suggest what GTti said. have u adjusted the clutch properly?

If it was a gearbox matter, then go start the car in neutral, and then press the clutch and slowly release it. if u hear any hard difference in the sound of ur car, then its the box.

now thats something correct. those bushes there tend to wear over the years. check em out matey

Yeah .now check the 2 gold U clamp things, there a little further up those cables.They clamp to a bracket on the box.
