gearbox weight?

Does anyone know how heavy a gearbox is?

i tried weighing mine to get a price for delivery but my scales only go upto 24kg and it went over that

it has an aftermarket lsd so that might add a bit of weight compared to a standard one aswell

no way is it that heavy. no more than about 50kg, otherwise i wouldnt be able to lift one.

yeh actually i think im abit over there, 60 is alot of weight, around the 50ish mark sounds maximum

well i was lifting it with 1 hand using some fishing scales to weigh it so it cant be really heavy i was thinking somewhere around 30kg but im sure quite a few people will have sent them before so hopefully can confirm the proper weight

mate it only weights 30 kg. thats without fluid.

i had one delivered once and it only cost me £10.

Nah, it's just under 40kg - I weighed a C52 with OEM LSD and a C56 without and they were just over and just under 40kg respectively x

yer its 40 -50kg

wen i got 1 delivered i put it down as 50kg it cost me £30 quid

either all you guys that think they are 50+ kg are weak as or have never changed one

they are 35-40kg dry without cv cups and mounts.

thanks for all the replies looks like ive caused some debate now

im still no wiser though so its somewhere between 30 and 80 kg

its looking like the average is about 45 then so far just need to get some prices from couriers
