getting the turbo to spool sooner

The Blitz controllers with dual boost solenoids are very good, however if buying second hand bear in mind that the dual solenoids are not cheap to replace if they fail.

The best response I got when I ran a hybrid was 15psi at 2200 rpm with a FMIC. Spool up (positive boost pressure) started at just over 1100rpm. This was due to changing to a HKS actuator and installing and tweeking the settings on a Greddy profec B spec2 controller. Other members at the time were reporting similar results with similar setups. It also held 15psi up to the 8500rpm redline(Jam Racing ECU). Honestly, my current TD04 setup is more powerful in the mid-high rpm range that the hybrid ever was, but I still miss the 1/4 throttle = 10psi response. I change down a lot now.

can i also ask in the pic below could the circled area be causing a restriction as this is my current exhaust and i dont know what that part is ?

That's likely to be a resonator, a type of muffler. It's likely to be straight through with virtually no impedance to flow. It will help a great deal with drone.
