Glanza Fuel Overconsumption, WITH STOCK ENGINE

Hi guys.
I have recently acquired a Glanza and every things fine and stock on the car. But the problem is that the car was not very well looked after on the engine side, and that it was not driven for around a year. When I got the car serviced, I noticed that the spark plugs were worn and were almost to the ceramic base, the air and fuel filter were filthy. I had the lambda sensor as well as the thermostat changed and the ignition timing reset. BUT the car STILL consume loads of petrol. I have had the tank filled up and measured on refill, well, consumption was like 124 miles for 22 litres of petrol. About my driving style, well , im always cool and chilling. I am really short of ideas now and don't really know how to fix it ( well if there's anything to fix). I am considering to get the injectors cleaned but is trying to get some more info before getting into it.
PLEASE ADVISE GUYS IF YOU'VE GOT ANY CLUE ABOUT THIS.
MANY THANKS..

if you just drive round town with no motorway driving you will be down into the twenties in terms of mpg.

Seems ok to me, but also make sure your tyre pressure is correct along with the usual suspects of leaks, new spark plugs, new ignition leads, fuel filter.

But you seem to have most of these done already.

Good advice rep added ducky, a lot of depicting factors with MPG but sounds okay to me. Does the car feel bogged down, unburnt fuel in exhaust (pops), any fuel smell etc?

Your not driving 24/7 with the aircon are you as this will reduce MPG by about 10%. Do you still have hi/lo mode? If so what do you run it in? If low mode this may well decrease MPG as the engine should have to work harder (turbo has a smaller role in essence) but I've never actually tested this theory as we always bin the stock solenoid!

Cheers Toby! As you said mate, there are so many factors to consider, once you have the basics covered (like he does) it should be fine.

Every thing is stock except dump valve, but does not have anything to do with fuel consumption. Unrestricted turbo and no high idling. But I noticed that the idling was not very stable, so I cleaned throttle body, which was very filthy. After that the idling went up to 1200 rpm, I got it back to 750 and now im waiting to see the mpg. Would some injector cleaning improve efficiency?

dude I get 33mpg in the city with my stock starlet gt

got my TB cleaned up as well, that should help you out.

what rpm range do you ussualy shift @?

Tuning isnt just about bhp!!!!

I get anoyed if i dont get 90miles out of 10ltrs** !!!!!!!!!!
I usually get 80miles* mixed
and 110 miles* at 70 with luggage (Girlfriend) on motorway.
with 26/28* being stupid with the boost!!!!

My biggest fuel saving was the introduction of a front mount intercooler, lowering the set boost on actuator to .46 bar, turn the digital boost controller off (so theirs no gain) and i invested in a pair of converse allstars instead of magnum special forces boots!!!
Also empty the boot e.g take the sub out!!! and leave your friends at home!!!!
TUNING ISNT JUST ABOUT BHP!!!!

Having said that after a few mods i got it down to 12mpg!! My friend has the same fuel issue with an auto. will investigate and list

On a serious note, aparently if you have a slack throttle cable on an auto it doesnt kick up/down at the right time!!! As there is supposed to be a sensor or sumthin on it.
