Well there may be a few people who have the cash waiting so when a for sale thread goes up and people call dibs it basically first come first serve. They seen it first so if they have the £££ then they can have it first as its only fair.
Now if they say dibs and dont have the £££ but someone else has the money then obviously you sell to the person with the £££.

Yeah i understand why its used, just think it should be up to the seller to proclaim who he is selling it to , not the buyer.

I see where your coming from and it is ultimately upto the buyer who he sells it to. But why wouldnt the buyer want to sell it to someone who has the £££? Doesnt matter if you call dibs or not really. Its just a way for people to register their interest in a product.
I will always give first priority to whoever calls dibs as long as they have the £££ because its the same as going into a shop and their is 1 loaf of bread there but 2 customers who want it, you always give it to the first person however if they dont have £££ then you would sell it to the other person.
LOL enough of this anyway, sorry to hear about the car buddy and good luck with the new house.

Thanks for all your messages, i'm gutted :( just looked through all the mint night time shots i'd taken of her, she is a minter. I will put up a thread in the for sale section as soon as i get around to it, but it's likely i'll do one for aftermarket parts first, then go for the full 'breaking thread' for the standard bits. I think i'll make enough money from breaking it to not feel too bad about it all once it's all over.

As for gettin a second hand engine, i just think outside of enthusiasts and people in the know, too many people would be put off if it had a second hand engine JUST put in it, and i doubt i'd make as much as if i were to break. But thanks for the suggestion :) (of course, if anyone wants to buy it as it is then let me know and i'll get a spec list to you, lol.)

get another engine u say ppl may be put of by this but u be surprised has long has u get recipt to prove u brought the engine and for how much etc then tthis should not put a buyer
trust me from experiance i broke my pride and joy for bits and its absolutly devistating see just a shell of what use to be a car i loved :(

lucky for me my mate brought the shell and is putting back on the road which i shall buy back wen hes done hehe but seriously dont rush into breaking her and it all wont go has fast has u wud like the aftermarket parts will rocket of but the standard ones will sit there for ages unless u get rid of shell with most bits in

good luck in whatever u do

Would be a real shame to see this one broken - I can vouch for the bodywork condition at least when last seen - when I sold it about three years ago. Much admired the car and the progress made from afar ever since - dont do it mate - as said above get an engine.

Well it'd be rude not to have the 3rd and final owner post in a row - when has that happened on TGTT before?? all we need is the Jap owners to come on here now, lol.

Thanks Em,
