can anyone tell me the pros and cons of both of these turbos please?

as im looking for an upgrade turbo wise.

mainly aiming for using standard pistons and rods at 1 bar for the moment and looking for good midrange - top end.

just wondering of peoples experiences on both turbos?

Personally I would go with the T28 ball bearing. Here are some rolling road results from a standard internal 4EFTE fitted with the ACIS Intake manifold,
4AG throttle body, 440cc injectors, eManage Blue and a GT28R:
05 PSI--------142WHP
10 PSI--------178WHP
15 PSI--------227WHP

is the acis manifold worth it? i guess you ve set it to use the short length runners , right artmull? or control it with a separate circuit?

Here in Florida we use all 8 runners open without any adverse effects although an "expert" seems to think that the car is losing power. However one of these cars did a best time of 12.9 @ 108mph with an open diff and street tires.

The ACIS intake is off a 5EFHE and all runners are open. If I remember correctly full boost was between 3.8 to 4K RPM, with the car revving to 7300RPM.

thanks for that, its interesting to read.

dont know the sizes im afraid ivan its off a 200sx S14 but the ballbearing version. theres a local 200sx specialist not too far and the turbos arent going for too bad a price so quite fancied one.

3.8 - 4k revs aint too bad i suppose on spool up if its producing figures like that

the t28bb would come in at around 4300-4400 as faras im aware mate. and i think s15aas had the ball bearing version

What do you think the bb stands for??? was in reply to this comment.

Heard of sarcaism??? There's more of it for you.

In other word t28bb would be a ball bearing version of a journel bearing t28.

mate I understand what BB stands for, just I was told to expect boost from this turbo around 4300 rpm, as it slightly larger than the gt2530rs which reaches boost at 400rpm roughly.

and wheres this ACIS manifold from?

Specifically, only the Cynos 5efhe's had the manifold, not the Sera's or Corolla II's or Corsa's...

And Hoodey on here's pioneered a way of maintaining the stock function of the ACIS with an eManage to great effect. Write-up is on his site: Clicky
